I am helping my dad with an old beach house that he has. One of the dilemmas of the house is the flooring. The home had carpet laid on top of some old wood floors. We pulled up the carpet and are trying to decide the best option for the wood floors. They are not terrible, but they do need some refinishing. My first thought was that we should paint them. These painted wood floors look great. I have recently found a photo of a painted wooden floor where stencil was used all around the room at the foot of the wall. You have other options for wood floor restoration. You can always choose sanding and sealing. You can use layers of oils or lacquer, too. Note that some of these works may need to be done by wood flooring professionals.
